Visit to Fiji

Volunteers from Light and Love Home arrived Fiji in May. They held several funfairs in Narere Indian Settlement area, which is a squatter area for the poor East Indian, to bring joy to the children and their family. Light and Love Home also works with the local non-profit organizations to provide education sponsorship program for the needy students in Narere Indian Settlement area.

It was my great pleasure to be able to serve the Narere community for my first missionary trip. I was moved because I saw kids who didn’t have clean clothes, not even shoes, yet they have the friendliest smile on their face and a very sincere heart.

It was so wonderful to be able to take part in the work in Narere. We may not have millions of dollars to offer, but what we have is even more powerful and effective. For we have the love of God in us.

Our first visit to the community made me realize so many are in need both physically and spiritually. We are very limited but through our lack I saw God’s providence and power.

Visit to Nepal

Light and Love Home volunteers visited Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal in May, 2009. Together with volunteers from a local college, they held a fun fair for the students in Kistland Boarding School. It was an unforgettable event for both students and volunteers. Also, we visited workers of brick factory, who work very hard but earn barely enough money to sustain their lives. Their brick houses are small, with no furniture, water supply or electricity. We delivered snacks to the workers and shared with them the love of God.

We visited the children’s home of Lovelight Society and was glad to know that it was ranked second among all orphanages in Nepal by local authority. We were able to expand our service and nine more children were received to our children’s home, which now has 34 children in total.

Visit to Africa

In January, volunteers from Light and Love Home visited Botswana, South Africa, Madagascar and Zambia in Africa. The missionary team visited 3 compounds in Zambia, namely Chiwala, Kantolomba and Chipolocuso, and visited a community school called Twikatane to support the orphans, students and families who are in need. We are planning to establish a community school as well as an orphanage in Zambia in the near future.
